My sweet friend @elanaepstein challenged me to start posting about a good choice I make every day. This comes at an amazingly poignant moment for me, because the last month or so in my writing life has proven slow and tedious for a number of reasons. I have felt like I’m constantly not doing enough, not devoted enough, not inspired enough, not enough of anything. So, today, my good choice was to blog about it. This is no masterpiece and I didn’t even go on as much as I could have. However, the act of acknowledging my experience and letting myself feel it rather than stew in the guilt of not accomplishing everything I wanted to is a good choice. Learning how to honour the low points as teachers and barometers, places to gut-check priorities, is a good choice. Self-care is a good choice. Thanks, Elana, for this kick in the ass.
